stories. a short time ago, the supreme court struck down a trump era ban on bump stocks. that's a gun accessory that allows semiautomatic weapons. to fire rapidly like machine guns. the high court voted 6 to 3 that the trump administration did not follow federal law. when it banned bump stocks after a mass shooting that killed 58 people, outdoor outdoor music festival in las vegas. the state trial of david to pop the man who attacked house speaker nancy pelosi's husband. resumes today last month. the pop was cvict in federal court of assault and attempted kidnapping of a federal official. his family member for that 2022 attack. last week as san francisco judge dropped several of the most serious charges in the state case. jurors are expected to reconvene this morning. you can see the >>thief >>smashing their way into

them >>to >>surrender shooting victim was found in san carlos. nearby >>hockey. >>all right, let's take a live look at the oakland coliseum, the city council, unanimously approved the sale of oakland's half of the coliseum. the african american sports entertainment group said it would buy that portion for a minimum of 105 0. 0. city leaders say the agreement paves the way for future development. and new opportunities in east oakland, including more green space, and some much needed affordable housing. even if the deal goes through, it could take years before we see any new construction on the site. all right, let's take a look across the bay this morning. happy friday. here's jessica birch with our forecast. >>it's a warm weekend ahead of us and breezy to wind speeds anywhere up to around 30 to 40 mph expected along our shoreline today, take it slow out there on the roads, especially as we head into this afternoon forecast is looking beautiful 70s and 80s up into the north bay off into the east

bay. we go livermore sitting at 83 degrees today. 87 all the way over in antioch, and it was just only a couple days ago. we were dealing with the heat advisory. so a little bit of a roller coaster for our temperatures this week. have some good news for you, though it's going to average out as we head into this weekend in time for father's day, and it's going to look beautiful as we head into next week with plenty of sunshine in our inland areas like san jose today, sitting in the 80s and speaking of 80s, we're also going to hold on tight to those throughout the next 7 days. warmth all throughout our inland areas. summer like weather right around the corner, as we had actually into the 1st day of summer, which is next thursday. we're expecting 80s at that, too. unless you live closer to the coast and or the bay area, for example, oakland and san francisco closer to the bay shoreline, we kind of have that marine layer holding on tight to us, giving us a little bit cooler weather to with his breezier conditions along our shorelines. we'll see upper 70s tomorrow low 70s in the sunday for father's day, averaging out nicely as we head into this weekend forecast and then a little bit of that marine layer kind of returns as we head into next week. >>all right. we're going to

take another live. look at oakland. we want to talk now about the city celebrating the official grand opening of a new apartment. complex it will offer a safe haven for families like a single mother that we want to introduce you to and her 6 children unique project is a collaboration. between the city local nonprofits and acts full gospel church, thousands of people entered a lottery for just 55 apartments at the complex on 94th and international are kevin koe spoke with 1 of the residents. about the importance of raising her kids in the city. she grew up in yeah. yeah. yeah. hey. bendy. that's when they don't bite. chanda greg's is a single mom. born and raised in oakland. this my 11 year old sign there isn't anything or anyone more important than her kids. have 6 children, and here they go right here. um, i got each 1 of the high high school diplomas. up there he just graduated. she is the 1 that's

in college. everything lashonda loves about her home in the ax cherry hill apartments. has a connection to her family. probably sleep. yeah, absolutely. so this her room that they choose going to a shelter to here, just having a roof over my head. you know the favorite part i love that you asked that it's hearing them say, get out of my room. because my door here my kids finally say, get out of my room! was chosen in the housing lottery after years of staying in hotel rooms and a shelter in hayward, while also recovering from a stroke. cry so hard because what is the odds? here i am. a stroke survivor. single mother. where my keys is 1 supposed to be going to college. and now they pulled me out of 5000 plus people on the lottery. blessing. that's a blessing. lives a floor below the chanda cried, cried even the blessing. big blessing to

me. that was homeless. from 1 family member to another family in the house residents here also have access to this community health clinic operated by la clinica delarosa. it's been functioning for some time, but city officials, including oakland mayor sheng thao, were part of a grand opening ceremony. he today. so what's bishop bob jackson sr pastor of actual gospel church, which not only helped to build the cherry hill apartments, but also 59 affordable housing units across international boulevard. so people could see that east oakland can be as beautiful as downtown oakland. and the people in east oakland deserve to have a nice, clean, beautiful place to live. out here sometimes and just watch, but i'm so thankful. you know, so i just sit here and just be like, yes, i'm thankful. very thankful. calls it a blessing to be able to live here, not

speeds light up fast heading into the afternoon hours by 3:00. coast around 40 mile per hour winds near bodega bay 30 mile per hour winds near san francisco and that's a similar trend, often to our inland areas to all the way into dinner time hours tonight, it's going to be a breezy 1. but other than that, i mean so many fun events are happening for us this weekend. you still got to go out and check them out. we have 60s and 70s in the forecast with plenty of sunshine for the juneteenth block party happening in the fillmore district. in san francisco. with beautiful weather, widespread throughout the bay area tomorrow to this is today's forecast, but it's going to look very similar to tomorrow 80s up near santa rosa 70s throughout most wine country 70s near redwood city, with 50s and 60s from san francisco, down along the coast near half moon bay. now as we head all the way down into the santa clara valley, we had a lot of heat this week, at least on tuesday with that heat advisory we had 80s in the forecast near san jose, actually 90s in the forecast in san jose just a couple of days ago. now it's in the 80s with a similar trend all the way off into the east bay to holding on tight to the 80s. this afternoon, we're going to hold on tight to them for actually, quite some time. plenty of
